Open Educational Resources that make AnatomyQuest possible

Our Commitment to Open Education

AnatomyQuest is built on the foundation of Open Educational Resources (OER). We believe that quality anatomical education should be accessible to everyone, everywhere. All of our educational content is derived from openly licensed sources and remains freely accessible to all users.

Important: Premium subscriptions provide access to enhanced learning tools, features, and analyticsβ€”not to the educational content itself, which remains completely free.

Primary Content Sources

1. Anatomy & Physiology by OpenStax

CC BY 4.0

What this license allows:

  • βœ“ ShareAlike: Derivative works must be licensed under identical terms

Our usage: We have adapted select content from Oregon State University's open anatomy resources. In compliance with CC BY-SA 4.0, any derivative content created from these materials is also shared under CC BY-SA 4.0.

How We Comply with CC Licenses

We take our licensing obligations seriously and ensure full compliance through:

  • Prominent Attribution: Clear attribution on every lesson page and in our footer
  • License Links: Direct links to the original CC BY and CC BY-SA licenses
  • Source Links: Links to original source materials (OpenStax and OSU)
  • Free Access: All educational content remains freely accessible to everyone
  • ShareAlike Compliance: Content derived from CC BY-SA sources is shared under the same license

What's Free vs. What's Premium

βœ… Always Free (CC Licensed Content)

  • All anatomy lessons and educational content
  • Basic quiz access (5 quizzes per day for free users)
  • Access to all chapters and topics
  • Learning progress tracking

⭐ Premium Features (Not Licensed Content)

  • Unlimited quizzes: No daily limits on practice
  • Spaced repetition system: Advanced memory retention algorithms
  • Advanced analytics: Detailed performance tracking and insights
  • Custom study plans: Personalized learning paths
  • Priority support: Faster response times

These are tools and services we provideβ€”not the educational content itself, which remains free and openly licensed.
